i listened to this song a lot last summer and never really thought about the lyrics until now that my art history class is almost over. it's funny to know all the references he makes to art and artists.

this song reminds me of the time when my friend and i were locked out of my house (she was staying over because her parents were away) and it was POURING rain out so we went to her house to stay there for the night because my parents were out at a party. At about 1:30am we decided to go meet up with her boyfriend and the kid i liked at the beach. They live 45 minutes away from us. So we got in the car and this song was playing. We felt so free and we stayed at the beach with them until like 4am. we got back home and got about 3 hours of sleep until i had to go to work. It was probably one of the best times i have ever had. The lyrics "do you want to get away? get in the car we can leave today do you want to celebrate our just made little holiday?" give me butterflies when i hear because that day is all i can think of :) |
