This song is about suicide. "I can erase it for you dear." Refering to death ending the pain. Similar to girls not grey "has lead to a place where i belong with all erased." Summer I laid down below a glitter-adorned night and silently sparkled my own way. Summer I laid down by you and shared my frail light. You gave the dark to me. I think that is showing the feeling of loneliness and trying to find love and in the end finding only more "darkness". I looked inside to find the one I sent away. I nearly froze when I stepped inside to find the flowers turned to gray. I closed my eyes and kissed them one lest time. I wanted this excoriation. I thrive on this self mutilation. I think this is referring to the moment before the act of killing himself. He looks inside to see himself and sees something that keeps him going but he ends up saying goodbye. To him death is worth being looked down upon for killing himself. I could explain the rest but it would just take to long. I think you can get the idea |

| i agree with wrinkled. this song is about the perils of life and how we all "dance through life" not knowing but just living. its just a pessimistic view on life and not feeling that things will ever really get better | |

| i agree with daveyismygod on this one. he is just trying to find himself and who he is. he just feels pain so he 'disassociates'. he has learned to be numb towards life so he can survive. but then again all afi lyrics can be translated into hundreds of different ideas and none are wrong because that is what makes them great. they can relate to almost everyone. | |

"before id lay me down to rest. id throw it all away to live." calm tonite - agnostic view of ceasing to exist art does drown - referring to thinkin about sorrow and expressing it. "the deeper i think the deeper i seem to sink" (What follows) me as the whitest lace of light (Will swallow whole) just begs to be imbrued? - seeing white just before you die. What follows has lead me to this place where I belong, with all erased - life has lead him to do this and in death all his pain will be erased where he wants to be. All insects sing tonight The coldest sound I'd send God's grace tonight Could it be found? - dunno about the insects but referring to when he dies he'll help others in the afterlife if there is one. |
