| Evanescence – Hello Lyrics | 22 years ago |

indignity you have a really good grip on this one, a school shooting fits this one really well because of the reference to a playground in the first verse. It seems like a troubled young person's perspective on it, almost as if they have a second personality forming because of the trauma, and that second person is talking to them. "Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to hello" That condition is furthered by the lines "Hello I'm the lie living for you so you can hide don't cry" indicating that internally the person has a lot of turmoil and the bridge lyrics "Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping hello I'm still here All that's left of yesterday" Indicates that the trauma hadn't occurred all that long ago, and that the memory is so blocked out that the second personality is the only indicator that this person is even aware of something significant ever having happened. |

| Evanescence – Haunted Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| I can't believe there are hardly any posts on this song, it rocks hard enough to shatter glass. Anyway, this song is defineatly about a dead/lost lover that author is still haunted by the memory of. Much in the same way as in My Immortal. | |
| Evanescence – Imaginary Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| this version rocks so much harder than the fallen version that it isn't even funny. The fallen version has the cool string tracks, but the piano track and the flow of lyrics is much, much better on this version. Despite Evanesence not being Christian, I have yet to catch the stuff where they take God's name in vain? | |
| Evanescence – Away From Me Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
crawling through this world as disease flows through my veins i'm looking to myself but my own heart has been changed i can't go on like this i loathe all i've become I see in these lyrics a precursor of the song "tourniqet" where the author wonders if they are too lost to be redeemed from their depravity. i've woken now to find myself in the shadows of a lie i've created i'm longing to be lost in you i've woken now to find myself i am lost in shadows of my own i'm longing to be lost in you.... away from me In the chorus the author is seeking to be free of the shackles of their evil nature, and the lies about themselves they tell the world, and be free to be alone in God. |

| Evanescence – Lies Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| While Evanesence is decidedly not a "christian band", this song is still a direct representation of Christ . The average human being is still persuaded by the lies of the devil, and then they are presented by the image of Christ, bound on the cross physically just as their spirit was bound up in pain and lies before. I am not forcing Chrisitianity upon anyone, but since the post directly before mine is a non-believer that sees the same thing I do then the song was clearly written with about an experience in life where the author lost their faith, and then found anew the face of redemption. | |
| Metallica – The Unforgiven Lyrics | 22 years ago |

so for starters I_like_beans is invited to kiss my ass, who cares how die hard of a metallica fan YOU are, all you are is the metal version of the fashion b*tches of the pop world. So don't be so fast to slam everyone else's interp. because that is what this site is for. That being said, here's my take The song's character as a child is one of those who don't fit in, and through the societal torture of his peers is warped into yet another mindless clone that cannot bring his true self to light. As a young man he attempts to please the whole word but cannot win because he is a true individual and as such simply cannot please everyone. As an old man he has realized the unforgiving nature of the world which fails to realize human nature and regrets ever having been born into this society of labels. |

| Evanescence – My Immortal Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Not to be the typical Christian advocate, but these lyrics can be seen as the main character having a conversation with Jesus. The first verse is from the persons perspective, then cuyts to Jesus' role in the conversation for the chorus, and back and forth. The highlight is when the person notes that while they have tried to convince themselves that Christ is gone, he is still there, yet the knowledge alone is not enough to fill the internal void. Actually the name evanesence is indicative of the ideaology of the ascension, it was defined to me as "to evaporate into light" just as a sidebar | |
