Yeah Raven, i agree with that. It could be any addiction. Personally it sounds like a sexual addiction. Also, i can imagine not in Maynard's view, but as someone who used him [maynard] for it's gain. And bacon, I can definately see the george bush point of view.. (huge amounts of sarcasm) |

ARGGH! why is this song even associated with a crap band like this. Who is the douche bag who mixed up a good band (mxpx) with and bad band (good charlotte) This song is rather amusing though. you people and your new found preppy punk pop or whatever you call it. you people are ruining music by supporting these bands. |

First off, Rage doesn't suck. They did something unique back in the day that bands today only wish they could do. They [Rage] are one of the few bands that have stuck to their beliefs and ideas, political or not. even though i don't agree with some of their views. And please don't compare Rage with ATDI. They really don't sound alike. and yes ATDI is NOT a political band. A quote from Cedric. "You can never say that At the Drive-In is this leftwing, pinko, socialist band. I mean, we would be total hypocrites by saying that because what we do in everyday life, you know. We sell t-shirts. You know, you pay to see us. There is really no political agenda we can stand on, let alone the fact that people are paying money to see us. And we have not put any money back in any sort of organization. You know. So we are not a political band. But lyrically, there are issues that seem political because it's a border town where we come from and it affects us all. So when you see going to school and getting hassled because of his color of skin. I don't think that political. I think that just what we see in everyday life. It really erks us and pisses us off. I don't know if people consider that politic if subjects about suicide and losing people at young ages are political. We've never stood behind slogans or anything like that." Anyways this song rocks. Hope this helps. |

| I know how you feel, Thunderbolt. When my mom heard this, and "nugget" she took my mp3 player and threw to the back of the car. But a very good song. Their new cd should be out in july/august hopefully. I wish they would tour more. Their shows are great. | |
| Pedro the Lion – A Mind of Her Own Lyrics | 22 years ago |

Ok. a little bit about Pedro the Lion. First: He is a Christian. and he does talk about christianity. But he doesn't preach it to you under a hot spotlight. He talks about real life issues and tried to solve them with his faith. Not like other christians band that are about "i love God, God loves me yea God" He doesn't try to sugar-coat the message. His music is suppose to make you uncomfortable. It's suppose to make to you think. Second: Pedro the Lion is ONE person. David Bazan. he does all the instruments on the albums and has friends help him out during live shows. Pedro the Lion WAS a group. But all the members left because they wanted to be "another christian rock band" Third: Most of his album are concept albums. Meaning loosely the album is a story. the tracks are chapters. you have to listen to the whole album to hear what he's talking about. Hope this clears stuff up. David Bazan is the man. |

I do agree with the whole rigorous touring schedule and how he's comparing it to the Vietnam War. If you have seen the music video for this song, most of it is concert footage and how energetic they are on stage. and no, At the Drive-In is not communists or a political band. Quoting Cedric: "You can never say that At the Drive-In is this leftwing, pinko, socialist band. I mean, we would be total hypocrites by saying that because what we do in everyday life, you know. We sell t-shirts. You know, you pay to see us. There is really no political agenda we can stand on, let alone the fact that people are paying money to see us. (The last couple of parts are paraphrased. I got too bored to type everything. But hopefully you'll get the point.) Hope this helps bubblygumuck. Anyways, This song is amazing. I really don't like how most people label ATDI emo. To me they're "tightwired guitar rock" it sounds better like that. Hope this helps |

| Sparta – Air Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Well i hate to beat this whole emo topic into the ground. But to me, At the Drive-In is more tight wire guitar rock than anything. and i really don't get the EMO genre. not that i care to. So if any band puts any thought or emotion into their music, they're consider EMO. | |

I guess it's my turn to write about this song. so here we go. First of. this whole album pretty much tell tales of the bible. (example. the song Of minor prophets and their protitute wives is about Hosea and his adulteress wife.) anyways this song sounds to me about the parable of the lost son. A father has two sons, one irresponsible, the other hardworking. the irresponsible one takes his inheritance and spents it all on wild living and being lazy. When he spends it all, he comes back to his father asking for forgivness, and gets it and they have a celebration. Meanwhile the older, hardworking brother gets angry because the younger son has squandered away this savings, and then gets a celebration for it. how this applies to the song: This song is sung in the eyes of the younger irresponsible brother. the first verse he's talking about his brother. saying "how hard you work. i would love to be you for a few habit forming years." "laziness cuts me like fine cutlery" The rest of the song he's talking about asking for forgiveness for what he has done. "sweet jesus, i need you forgive me this sin not hookers or heroin, gambling or gin it sounds so ridiculous, but i just can't lick this" Well those are my thoughts. I can also see how you guys can get masterbation out of this. I thought it was about that for the longest time. Have fun with this. Also if you listen closely to the song, i think 2min- 57sec, you can hear a chair squeaking in the backround. Just goes to show the rawness and honestly of the music. Have fun with this. David Bazan is the man. |

Well let's see. I think is song about a kidnapping. The first part of the song is the phone call. It's pretty much saying "if you want to protect your child, give us the money. Hence "But that will be expensive" The first verse about "limbs intact untouched on the screen of a video tape confined to bedpost we wait as lepers" My thinking is that the kidnappers made a videotape and gave it to the parents showing that the child was ok (limbs intacted) and is tied to a bedpost. "upheld at knife's reach" and "this syringe will take a lifspan" is saying what they could do to the child (slitting of a throat, injecting the child with some poison.) "Sacrifice on railroad tracks freight train coming unconsious tied and gagged frieght train coming" i think is if they don't give them the money, they will throw (Sacrifice) the child on the railroad tracks to die. The second verse is about where to meet to make the exchange of money. Well those are my thoughts. excellent song too. the bassline is simple but sweet. have fun with this. |

Well let's see here. It sounds to me like a kidnapping. the beginning of the song starts off with the ransom. Pretty much saying "if you want to protect your child, give us your money. Hence " but that would be expensive" the first part of the song about "limbs intact untouched on the screen of the video tape." sounds like the victim was videotaped and the tape was sent to the parents. "upheld at knife's reach" and "this syringe will take a lifspan" is whats is on the tape. Showing the parents what they could do to the victim (slitting of the thoat and injected with something that could kill.) "Sacrifice on railroad tracks freight train coming unconsious tied and gagged frieght train coming" To me if the kidnappers didn't get what they wanted, the victim would be "Sacrificed" thrown onto the railroad tracks tied up to die. The second verse is about where to meet to make the exchange. Well i hope that helps. My thought, Not yours. Not every ATDI song has to do with drugs. |
