I think that drug and death themes are a lesser interpretation of literature. I think that John is simply retelling all of the wonderful things that imagination (also highly valued in this era) can produce. A lot of Creedence songs are just about everyday occorunces, everyday life. Story telling, that was the original purpose of music anyway. |

I can't believe nobody but 1 has commented about this song. The chorus riff is so sweet and the rest is so fast. Even on the first song showing their talent. |

Yeah, when you are in a band and making money off of shows you never have to go to work to make money like everyone else. Every day to him is a holiday because he doesn't work. Weekends are filled with the people who are off of work and that is when he has to "work" by doing shows. He is just showing off in a way. Like in "Stranger than FIshing" when he talks about how much he sucks and says how some people just have all the luck. Basically, he is living the life while we suck it up. |

Ok, now for something completely off subject. Does anyone else find it amusing how this awesomely heavy and fast song all of a sudden goes into that "Sweet Home Alabama" riff as I like to call it. I laugh everytime I hear it. THen to top it off, the solo comes in then. Dave Mustaine didn't write this song....LYNYRD SKYNYRD DID! I don't know what I am talking about. |
