This song, like so many metal songs, is simple about self empowerment, the idea is that you feel good when you lsiten to it, you feel powerfull, heh. More specifically, its about metal taking over the world and kicking the asses of pop etc. when he says 'Brothers and sisters keep strong in the faith' hes reffering to the 'Old Gaurd', metallers, the alternative type that love this kind of music etc. *rocks out* :) |

I'd also agree, this song is definatly THE darkest song ive ever heard, and one of my absolute favourites. It sums up how I feel most of the time perfectly. I dont believe in any god or afterlife, I only believe what I can rationalise as fact. So to me, as Mark said, there is basicly no point in existance, everything is just one big circle. Everything will end up the way it started, just returning to the great nothingness of eternal space. And its about the feeling I get, of complete hoplessness, and the futility of life. There is a glimmer of hope in it though, with the lines 'I know in darkness, I will find you; Giving up inside like me' which expesses that although I feel like just giving up on all of existance, because ultimatly its pointless, maybe there is somone else out there like me, and we can take comfort in each other... |

This song has opened the flood gates on my built up emotion. The first 3 paragraphs are about somone looking in upon themselves, with a complete feeling of lonelyness, like every has left them, and only there demons remain. 'Unable to know; Of what you think is; right or wrong; Still you go on; Convinced it will end' Then the last paragraph is somone else looking upon the person, trying to tell them that there here, theres nothing wrong, that they havnt been left behind. i think its acctually about the singers best friend geting involved in a serious accident (or possibly drugs overdose) and being permantly brain damaged to the point of becomming a vegtable, this is not a coma, hes awake, theres just no concious mind inside (ie hollow) people in this condition just stair into space all the time ("sits with blank expresions") "I sit now with his hand in mine But I know he can't feel... " people in these vegatble like states cant feel anything, they are basicly cut off from the real world completely. Some speculate that the person is acctually still concious within there own mind, but unable to interact with the outside world in anyway (a link there to "i want to come in after you") its a very sad condition to be in, both for the family + friends and the possibly still concious person trapped in there own mind :( very good song tho |

first, the point of being here: i agrre with the other deffinitions already put forward, an excelent song, and when the lead singer screams certain bits he does it with such emotion, i love it :) ok, about governments: basicly, as far as im concered humans are flawed, in small groups, there fine, they can keep a socialist, anarchist or communist sort of 'system' running in there localised group however, as soon as humans start getting into large groups (more then say... 30 people) the 'system' starts to fall apart, people become increasingly more greedy and selfish, and everything breaks down in short, the human mind was 'designed' (so to speak) to remain in tribes of no more then roughly 30-50 people. Notice how well small african and austrailian tribes get along (only within there group of course), that doesnt happen in countries, because there are too many people in one 'system'. sucks to be human :( |

i agree with nobodysfool, its about commiting suicide and wanting to die("pouring crimson regret and betrayl" to me is her bleeding after cutting herself), but then realising that acctually you dont want to die, and wanting to be saved (ie, by a torniquet), i personly dont see the god side of it cos im not christian, but i understand that there is one to amy, as she is. and amy has acctually said in an interview it was about suicide, and the dilema that suicide is a sin in christianity, btw :) |
