no i dont think its about columbus day, i think its more about the guys as a band and how theyve struggled with various factors from thier begining. like near the end where it says "the thunder struck the clouds appeared our fearless crew was not prepared and pretty soon the boats came for us half a million strong we gathered arms we fired shells we built a wall around ourselves and pretty soon the spirit was a lot like what it used to be back home " it seems to me like this is about the struggle with fame. how at first they were kind of shocked but then they fought it off somewhat and came to terms with it and the spirit of it became like what it used to be back when they were a new band fresh on the scene. |
