"what does this song mean to me ? well, nothing. i think it's lame that of all people he had to jump on the president bashing band wagon. there is a few reasons this song is gay as hell. first off the election is over so what is he trying to do , bitch? cry? i mean noone pays bands to hear this shit every fucking show i have been too it seems that they feel like they have to say something about the president, do they all think that we pay 20 bucks to hear more bullshit about the president we get enough of it on tv, so this song was a waste of everyones time, but maybe he feels like he's proving a point." Dear Monkey Flapp, First off, I would love it if you wouldn't use the term gay as a term to degrade something, because that is highly sexist and very simple-minded of you and your peers. Secondly about politics in music, I believe that this song is a wonderful display of using power and fame to open eyes. In comparison, do you think protesting something is a waste of time? How about striking because you don't get payed enough to live? If you do then you need to open your little eyes to what I call reality. Because this world is very fucked up and then their are people like conor oberst and NOFX out there trying to make a difference. What are you doing? Sitting in a computer chair? Eating cheetos? Please get off you ass and stand for something, preferably not to get a Mt. Dew... And for everyone else, I think this song was purposely written so you could hear the lyrics. I like conor's voice for the fact, it's his and he isn't ashamed to sing even with a not so perfect voice. And not to mention go up against the "majority" and refuse to play at places owned or run by Clear channel. He isn't out for money obviously, he is out there for you and me... Well me and my band covered this song when we started out and I think the lyrics are referring to a long relationship ending and the feelings following because when i first had broken up with my girlfriend. i had related it to my feelings at the time. Oh my God! My God this can't be happening! God tell me, tell me this isn't real! I think these lyrics are saying "oh shit, I shouldn't have broken up with that special person now I'm not happy..." I can't believe all that I have foreseen is finally happening. I cannot for a single second stand the way I feel. I always knew. I always saw it coming. he knew breaking up with them would make him feel miserable and who can stand that? Enveloped now, encased by my worst fear. his worst fear must be being alone and with that person I've never felt the nausea of longing to feel nothing, well lets just say if you're emo then you start to wish you weren't you start to wish you could be like every other person and just move on I never wanted to cease to exist,just disappear. after youre broken up and you watch as the other person moves on and you dont you want to be there with them but they ignore your every idea but all you wanted was for them to be happy but they hate you now and it sucks to be hated pow! you have just ceased to exsist to them Fear memories are all that lie ahead. well you just hope that you can stand going to the restraunt you two met at without remembering the good things Never have I felt so lost.
