| i listen to this song before every test i take. its just beautiful and it calms me down. I am reading Owen Meaney right now because of this song, haven't recognized any words from the song yet but Owen Meaney's voice is this little high pitched voice that is talked about a lot in the book. thats the "the only voice i want to hear is yours" part. The part about the palm trees is not in the book, just leaving on a plane from sky harbor, but "you are getting smaller but i still see you" is straight out of the book. Andaah i really like your interpretation only i relate it to just dying in general and not suicide. That whole mark 16:11 is pretty cool too. This is definately the most creative song i have ever heard. | |

its amazing the difference in the comments about this song (about saves the day "selling out" and "teeny boppers" and mtv) and all the other saves the day songs (std is the best, chris is amazing, most beautiful song ever...) TxBxS: maybe he his helping his friend through his friends point of view. ie, if it is a drug addiction his friend is really addicted and will not quit no matter what. therefore chris is helping him by leaving him alone and not making him quit. however this will probably lead to friends death. |

| i dont think this song is necessarily about suicide. i think he is just giving advice about life in general. how you should just live life to the fullest and not worry about anything. dont worry about the past because you cant change it. then when you die (by suicide or not) you can look back and just be happy that you didn't waste your time on worrying about little things and that you lived a good life. | |

| i think of this more as a kinda hip hop beat. only this song is way better than anything those hip hop people can come up with. its got many different instruments, its mixed together really well, its not just the same thing over and over. i wish hip hop bands were this creative. the out of tune piano and the pulsating bass shows me just how creative these guys are. i love it!! | |

i think this song is about his love for music, not a girl: "as the sound hits your ears one at a time?" - this is how stereo sound works. sound from 2 different speakers gets to your ears at different times giving the sound a sense of direction. "And unspoken balance here" - balance on a stereo changes which speakers the sound comes from, (ie, left or right) "That I should stare at receivers to receive her isn't fair." - audio recievers, aka stereos and the final clue: remembering "Jinx Removing." - song by jawbreaker just a thought |

dont get me wrong, i love jimmy eat world but i find it ironic that everything JEW sings about in this song you can apply to Bleed American: "lowering the standard" - the new songs dont compare to clarity "imitate and water down" - once again "selection breathes on its own" - clarity wasn't half as popular as BA (as far as i know). "let selection kill the old" - songs on mtv suck and if people who cared voted 10 songs on clarity would be top 10 every day. haha. "turn off your radio" - music on the radio sucks too however, now that BA is out, JEW is the kind of band that they are singing about. aka, they are on MTV and the radio. im not complaining about them "selling out" or that "BA sucks" cause it doesn't, it just seems like they purposely wrote a few "radio friendly" songs on BA, which is what this song is putting down. on a moe pleasant note, this song rocks |

| ive read on tons of message boards how people absolutely despise tjt which i dont understand. i think they are great. example, if you go to punknews.org it seems as if almost everybody hates this band but they give rediculous reasons for it. anyways, even more than just hating tjt, i think this song is about all those punkers out there who hate all "emo" and think they are cool by making fun of it even though they probably have never heard any of the songs. it seems like these people just automatically hate something that can even remotely be compared to "emo". wel this song is for those people and i think tjt got back at all these people. its an ongoing battle, but this song shows that tjt doesn't care about these people. | |

one of the first JEW songs i ever heard but i love it so much more that i have an idea about what it is about. i think it is about growing old and not being able to do the things that you were once able to do ("fossil resources all used up," "there's only my weight left"). "Euthanasia could be the greatest gift" - wow, i had never know before about a minute ago but euthanasia is like what dr. kevorkian did when he killed all the sick people who want to die. therefore, because you are old and cant do anything it might be better to die than to just sit there on your porch all day ("dont leave the house today"). "life means i hear my ears ring one more day" - one of my fav JEW quotes. what an amazing song. |

this song does have the ability to amaze. im not exactly sure what the entire song means but i have an idea for the last couple lines: "Not asking of me anything, saying nothing about what it means, without anybody telling me what I should feel" i think this is about how JEW doesn't like to explain the meanings of their songs (this is a fact). they write songs for themselves so their label and the crowds can not influence them in their song writings, aka tell them what they should feel. this seems to be a common theme throughout 3 or 4 songs on clarity. |

| this is one of my fav JEW songs. to me it means that someone thinks he has met the most amazing girl in the world but he knows that there will never be anything between the two. "Wait for something better, Maybe that doesn't mean us" means that maybe there is another girl out there that he hasn't met yet that is more amazing than this one, and the he is actually meant to be with that girl. then he says "Wait for something better? I shouldn't, it's not enough" because he thinks it is impossible that there is a girl more amazing than the one he has a crush on right now and any other girl he meets will not compare, hence not be "enough." | |

I think "Lucky Denver Mint" refers to a lucky penny (pennies found heads up are good luck). when he "made a wish on lucky denver mint" he through his penny into a fountain and made a wish (like so many people have). "A dollar under water keeps on dreaming for me" means he has made 100 wishes on 100 pennies and yet his wishes have not come true. | |

i think jimmyeatworld867 hit it right on the nose. please let me explain: "Nothing that makes sense ever works out" - all songs that are popular on tv do not make any sense or just have rediculous lyrics while JEW's songs are amazing and yet (at least when this album was released) nobody knows about it. "Nothing can be good on its own merit" - im sure many of you know of tons of amazing bands that nobody has heard of and tons of crappy bands that everybody is in love with. these unheard of bands are not "good" because they do not have the aid of radio and tv to help advertise their songs. "Don't kid yourself, you know they want money" - record labels do not care about the music, they just want music that people which is why they make bands change their ways which leads to people calling the bands "sell outs" "Please keep in sight what makes you care" - to all bands out there: write songs for you and not to make money or get popular "Your camera flash. On us, meaningless" - JEW doesn't care about being popular, they just care about writing kickass songs (which they succeed) "What you ignore is priceless to me": to all fans of MTV and the likes - all these people ignore JEW cause they have (had) never heard of them before but JEW's music is the only thing that matters in their lives. |
