| The Police – Message In A Bottle Lyrics

I don't agree with tps12's explantion, but its an interesting interpretation.
I think the Police use the idea of being stranded on a desert island as a metaphor for loneliness. At the end of the song he realises that he's "not alone at being alone". |

| The Police – Walking On The Moon Lyrics

I think this song is about wanting to be in love with a girl. "We could ve together". It feels like he's walking on the moon when he's been with her. "Feet they hardly touch the ground". He's optimistic they'll eventually get together but others aren't so sure. "Some may say I'm wishing my days away".
That's my interpretation. |

| Radiohead – My Iron Lung Lyrics

I've seen Radiohead live. They played Creep, right at the very end. The atmosphere was intense. I don't think Radiohead should be known as the "Creep" band, even though that song really is a classic. I would still think they were a great band even if they hadn't released Creep. There are other great songs, like Fake Plastic Trees and Paranoid Android.
My Iron Lung is one of my favourite Radiohead songs. |

| The Police – Can't Stand Losing You Lyrics

A sad song about a breakup which leads to suicide. "You'll be sorry when I'm dead
And all this guilt will be on your head
I guess you'd call it suicide". He can't stand losing her, so death is his only escape. |

| The Police – Roxanne Lyrics

The red light could mean two things in my opinion: I agree that it definately has something to do with prostitution and a "red light district" but it could also mean the red on traffic lights. In other words, a metaphor telling her to stop: "Put on a red light".
This song is about a man who falls in love with a prostitute and is trying to convince her to stop selling her body. |

| Audioslave – Cochise Lyrics

The song was named Cochise because of the native american indian person because of the riff. The guitarist said he thought this was a suitable name because of the energy of the song as a whole.
However, I don't think the lyrics have anything to do with American Indians. |

Sounds like a random series of metaphors, but do they have any particular meaning in the context of this song? Still, I enjoy listening to it. |

| The Coral – Dreaming Of You Lyrics

They're a new band, but what is remarkable about them is that their style of music is very undefined. Traces of many types of music can be found throughout. I recommend the self titled album.
As for the meaning of the song, I think its fairly straightforward: a guy very confused about a relationship. "I still need you but I don't want you now". Maybe it represents the first time he has fallen in love, notice how he is uncertain why his "heart skips a beat?". That's my personal opinion of the meaning. |

| The Coral – Spanish Main Lyrics

There are so few lyrics its almost impossible to find a broad interpretation for them. Maybe they can only be taken very liturally.
I think the mood of song has more of an impact that the lyrics...the coral could be singing about cabages and it would still be a great song. |

| Weezer – Smile Lyrics

I think its about a guy who desperately wants to be with a girl. She's uncertain about the relationship and is "spinning 'round and 'round". He tries to convince her that he can make her feel loved ("you wanted some love, i'll make it happen") and possibly he is attracted to her because of her smile. "I can't take the way you wanna wrap me up inside your smile". Seems like a nice little love song to me. :) |

| I Am Kloot – To You Lyrics

This song has a tone of morbid desperation. I think its about a person who admires a girl for whatever reason (beauty, perhaps?) and this quality seems so perfect that "the gods and the saints preserve "her". He is desperate to get with this girl. Notice the fragile "to you" at the end of the chorus.
Those are my personal thoughts on the song. |

| Seafood – Western Battle Lyrics

I think this song is about addiction to drugs from the perspective of an addict.
Notice "Gotta get a skin that I can fill". That sounds like cannabis related. Also, in one part it sounds like he is talking to a dealer: "Well yo think you got it right? I could use a little more".
That's my personal view on the meaning of the song. |
