i think this song is about the pain there is in leaving someone behind, walking away from them, not because you want to but because you have to. you know that you're perfect for each other but there's something standing in your way, keeping you apart. and each day living without them, each time you see the sun rise or set, hurts because really, the one thing in the world that you want is to be with them. time isn't helping to ease the pain like it's supposed to, it's simply stolen your happiness. you wish that things could be different, you know that you shouldn't care so much about one person out of all the people you know, but you can't help it. that one person makes you happy and gives you good times, and without them you're miserable. you've tried already to leave them, because you know that you have to, but you keep coming back, or keeping them in your mind.
