by the way, the battle of the alamo was fought by mexicans attempting to take the americans' alamo fortress.
"the alamo has been penetrated" = the brown people have won. |

are reading comprehension skills and liking alexisonfire mutually exclusive or something? you two seem to only be reading "white man" and ignoring the rest of that line. it sounds pretty goddamn anti-multiculturalist if you ask me. maybe the reason he isn't more positive about it is because he's living in a strongly multicultural society? or maybe it's because he's from a shitty screamo band, and whining is what screamo bands do best?
if a band only writes one song that's pro-animal rights, does that mean that they're actually against animal rights? your argument doesn't make any sense at all. |

the "you're pins, i'm needles" line is saying that they're the same but different, like "brothers" or whatever. the song is pretty obviously about chino and stephen. |

i'm pretty sure this song is about drug addiction too, haha..
actually, after reading through the lyrics again it kinda sounds like it's about suicide. there's a few drug references in there too though. but hey, that's bush for you :D |

ohh, so now because i don't write lyrics i haven't put anything valuable into the world? what the fuck is that?
bitching about something that i know nothing about? what? i'm just making fun of a band for getting shittier. and this happens to be one of the shittier songs on a shitty, shitty album.alexisonfire set the bar pretty high with their self-titled album, and "watch out!" fell hilariously short of it. it's not like there's much to discuss when it comes to the meaning of the song anyway, it's not exactly subtley written. |

since when do i have to write my own lyrics to point out that other people's lyrics are garbage? that's fucking idiotic to say the least.
honestly, how can you say that this band has grown? if anything i'd say they've regressed, their first album was great, while "watch out!" just made me embarrassed for them. seriously, these lyrics look like they were written while the band was still in grade school. |

what the hell happened to this band? their self-titled cd is fantastic, and the lyrics don't sound like they were written by 8th graders. besides maybe "that girl possessed" (which still has terrible lyrics), every song on this album makes me embarrassed to have ever liked them |

the line is actually "who's the bad guy for iron requirements?"
he's saying that it's ok to eat meat, but that animals shouldn't be killed for stupid reasons like taking their fur or whatever |

i'm pretty sure this song is actually about the guy that the mars volta album is about.. he sings about trying to get the guy to stop doing drugs and shit, and he talks about the guy trying to reach out for help (i'm a million miles away/will you get this letter?) and there's obvious talk about suicide and stuff (self destruct sequence). also, "slithered entrails in the cargo bay" sounds sort of like he's talking about worms, like he mentions in a few songs on de-loused in the comatorium
so there ya go ;D |
