| Bloc Party – I Still Remember Lyrics | 18 years ago |

While I agree that this song is and was conceived to be about an attraction between two boys, that doesn't have to be the case on two levels. It doesn't have to be homosexual. Just really close and platonic. Granted, such a relationship can be very ancient, but I have seen two hetero males platonically kiss each other in the cheek. And no one considers that gay. and yes, it's still a kiss. Second, it can be about a relationship between a boy and a girl, and while it changes the meaning of the song, and the fears and aprehension found within, the lyrics are still aplicable. As a listener, it's up to you how to connect with the song. But yeah, I hear what the band has to say.Kudos for the bravery to write this song and release it as a single and video. |

To me, it's really a song about love, togetherness, and the strength of a bond two people share. Sex might be blatant, but in the end, that's up to interpretation. The killer part starts with "But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do", because that nails the song down, that despite all the troubles and all the tribulations, the only thing he needs to make everything right is the love of his life. I guess that's why it's such a bright, cheery song. Aside from the upbeat music, there is a sense of hope in the song that no matter what hardships, all you really need is love. =) I. Am. Such. A. Not all the songs are religious, such as this one. However, on the note of videos and their respective songs, the video may not even reflect the song in any way. Anyway, compared to What's this Life For by Creed and Jumper by Third eye Blind, this is the only suicide-themed song from the the perspective of the person trying to kill himself. However, those are the only three suicide songs I know (in English at least). Stuff I liked from the video: the blue tint that made the video so sad and gloomy, and how the lighting shifted into something brighter when the jumper changed his mind. Hope-inspiring imagery... |

| Lit – Zip-Lock Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| True, the symbolsim of the ziplock bag was to preserve that "second chance". And the chorus is pretty much a plea for help (Help me before I screw up that you'll end up better of without me.) | |

Oy! No offense, but I believe the reason why this site is called Song MEANINGS (once again, MEANINGS!!!) is because we're supposed to share our unique and individual perceptions of the song and its lyrics. While I admit this song is great, save the rants and raves for another mesage board (like Lp's own) please. I for one am still wondering what the overall meaning of teh lyrics are... |

| Weezer – In The Garage Lyrics | 22 years ago |

Well geeks do feel a sense of isolation because of their passion. The first verse relates to geeks especially because of teh Dungeons and Dragons reference, as well as the X-Men reference (and this was probably written before X2 or even the X-Men cartoon. And this song is about the isolation one feels. Which is why this song describes the contents of the garage and it is clear in the lyrics. "In the Garage. I FEEL SAFE! NO ONE CARES ABOUT MY WAYS!" |

Not Only Martin Luther King, though Bono did dedicate it to him. It's on the Rattle and Hum album I believe. But in general, it is about the power of the individual, and how that individual can have so much power to rally people together and bring out emotions. Aside from King and Christ, the "caught on a barbed wire fence" refers to that person trying to escape some camp by leaping or charging through barbed wire fences. Photos and clips can be found on TV and in the net. |
