I have a very eclectic music taste. Cursive is one of my favorite bands because their music is so different. The combination of instruments they use, especially on their most recent album, is amazing. Any true musician/music fan would appreciate Cursive's unique style. That all being said, they're lyricism is quite skilled also. Tim's lyrics are very self-aware and tap at a spectrum of the human emotions. This song is not about rape. He's singing about an ex, who like every girl is so worried about her physical appearance because society is the way it is. He's explaining how everyone thinks she is so beautiful, but its not enough for her, she keeps trying to be someone else, "crushed neath fashion magazines" shes screaming mister wont you fix me and kasher seems to think she needs no fixing at all. also it emphasizes his dire need for her , and touches on the game of power played in most relationships. |

hey lets see ataris on MTV..i think so. way to be hypocritical bastards. listen to Cursive - Sink to the Beat, its about the industry and why bands sell out. and by the way, I like the ataris and all, but this song is bull. |

im 17 and when I first heard this song (like a long time ago) it made me almost come to tears and still does now. if you actually have any grip on what music is you'll hear and feel the emotion Brad puts out in this song. Its about how he has an addiction and he knows about it but theres just nothing he can do, and he knows he's going to die. Its sad because he did die. RIP Brad and Loudog, peace in heaven. |
