this song reminds me of myself a lot. i don't really think it's about christ, thought i could see how someone might get that idea. to me it represents letting go of trying be something you're not and just realizing everything in your life happens for a reason and that you should just be yourself. it seems so simple but it's the hardest thing for most people to accomplish in their lives. |

This is the first song that really got me into Bright Eyes. I agree with jackielantern in that this song is about someone who is constantly stable in your life, always being there for you and providing support. I won't do the cliche Bright Eyes fan thing and call Conor a genius, but he is a talented writer. I find it very interesting how he writes a lot of songs about stuff that has never happened to him. It keeps you guessing. |

This is a really good song and all, but where he says "I came here with a load and it feels so much lighter now that I met you," it sounds like he just took a giant shit. It's like Chris is feeling really bad because his trust was broken and his secret is out but the other person is fine and safe because now the "spies" have gotten what they want.
