I see this song as being about suicide, personally, even though I can't put my finger on any particular phrase pointing to that. She's dying in her lover's arms, and wants to make sure that he knows she'll be okay. The verse "I'll miss the winter/A world of fragile things/Look for me in the white forest/Hiding in a hollow tree (Come find me)" seems to be inviting her lover to join her in the afterlife, and I've always pictured the two of them walking together after death in a wintertime forest. |

| I see this song as being about unrequited love. The "narrator" has been strung along by someone who doesn't love her, but is amused by playing with her emotions. She has finally realized what is going on and is telling the guy that although she's been through hell for him, she won't tolerate being used anymore. | |
