this is song means to me that at a certain point. The glass that embodies ur religious beliefs are shattered. Life begins to make less sense when religion is not the reason for life. This is how i felt for a long time, and when i heard this song, and Before rupture and rapture, i didnt feel so alone anymore in my pain. |

From an interview Geoff said that song dealt with his old friend's still doing hard drugs, and his girlfriend lived on division street. When he got to his girlfriends house she was either breaking up with him/or found a new man. When he left her house walking back he got stabbed by some thugs on the street. |

In an interview Geoff said that one of his friends was dying from a chronic illness. Geoff would meet him sometimes to comfort him and his dying friend would tell him that life makes no sense. The dying friend became shicizophrenic, and would ramble on about life, and this is the beginning of how the song originated. |

I think the lyric, "Well, in the dark we are just air so the house might dissolve. But once we are
gone, who is gonna care if we were ever here at all?" has to do with conor's girlfriend or friend because a house can symbolically mean a union between two people. Also this songs seems to be like a farewell to his hometown. Maybe Conor wrote this when he was leaving his hometown. |

this song is about mark the drummer and he's experimentation with drugs. i asked adam andmark and they told me it was at a point in mark's life when he was just a dopey kid. and the song confronts his problem. |
