| I'd have to say that the Ace card in his pocket is saying that the character is the "Ace in the Hole"... representing Jesus, the one who gave it all and died for us, and it was all to defeat sin. | |

This line is wrong: It's well known that the cross is only a burden with pains and trials. But thinking how come my shoes are so light, how come I can walk for miles? It's "But then again how come my shoes are so light". And it's "heart still POUNDS twice as fast", not pumps. But this song is definitely about God. "They look up without realizing they're standing in the palm of your hand" means that people are always looking for proof of a God, and they don't realize that they ARE proof. The second verse, the one I corrected is about how people always say that "the cross is only a burden", meaning that people think following Christ is a hassle, and Christian is like, "But then again... how come my shoes are so light? how come I can walk for miles and miles, and still just love you?" Saying that even though it's not easy, since he trusts in Christ his journey isn't that difficult in the end. I'm sorry for anyone like "lilcrow" who "hates god and anyone who follows him", I mean that's a pretty prejudice way to conduct yourself. I don't know what you've been through in life but I can assure you that Christ is LOVE. I'll pray for you, lilcrow, even though you hate me. |

| I'm not sure these lyrics are 100% correct but I think the overall meaning of the song is that a debt of sin had to be repaid by blood, and Christ paid that debt, but Christian feels as if he's forgotten about that and feels as if he will end up repaying that debt himself rather than accepting Christ's gift of forgiveness... | |

plguitarist, I'm confirming your post about the song, as I too recently saw Blindside in Grand Rapids, MI. Everything you said is dead on. Cliff notes: The song is about bringing somebody on their death bed to Christ. |

Ok, listen to the song VERY carefully, he says NOTHING about a Monkey, or "put me against a wall", he says: "I'm never backing, never backing back against a wall" |
