I'm pretty sure the "ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah" in the beginning and throughout the entire song is from laurie anderson's "Oh Superman" |

| Neutral Milk Hotel – Gardenhead/Leave Me Alone Lyrics

well, as mangum said, it's a combonation of two songs (obviously) Gardenhead and Leave me Alone. If I remember correctly he wrote leave me alone right after getting out of a bad relationship. And i didn't mean Garden head was ABOUT a little man, I meant that that was who the Gardenhead was. He always poked his head out of the bushes outside the little shack they played in, that is, until he was invited in. |

I agree with subvert over there. The idea of ending your life being baptized is darkly ironic, juxtiposing suicided (impure) with an important religeous ritual (pure). very funny kinda. in a dark dark way. |

Well the "Gardenhead" is a little man who lived across the street from Mangum after he dropped out of college. That's jinda what Mangum said on a live XFM session. I suggest you download this session, it's pretty good aside from the cheesy radio DJ. You can find it on www.elephant6.com |

I'm really superised no one has commented on this one yet. It's such a happy song, happy on it's own, but extraordinarly happy for a Jeff Mangum song. The only one issue is the it's fading line. Is the newfound joy and strength fading? or the fear? It's a choice the listener has to make. |

| Neutral Milk Hotel – Two-Headed Boy Pt. 2 Lyrics

Actually, the spine thing although I can see the sexy idea, if you compare part one and part two you will see spines are mentioned twice. Part one talks about notches, and part two talks about wings from the spine. This I believe is growth. Two headed boy grew up and no longer has notches in the place of these notches wings have grown. This is not literal though, so I am sure this in itself has some other meaning. Never the less this is what I noticed.
Now for the worshiping part. I love Neutral Milk Hotel. This is my favorite album, although my favorite song is on "On Avery Island" it is Gardenhead/Leave Me Alone. It's so good. All of you should check it out! NOW! And buy the CDs! :D |

| Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics

Actually I looked at the meaning of everything in it's right place as literal. I think it couples well with the first song on Amnesiac. Because he kept repeating I'm a reasonable man get off my case. I thought this was referring to the change in style. I think "everything in it's right place" is how it is done, with computers you litterally place music. So you can put it exactly in the right place. I like all your opinions though. |
