very very cool song....the lyrics are so great, but i think it would be a much better song if someone covered it and made it tighter, better guitar riffs and vocals and such.
anyways, i think that it portrays what people feel when they look at God. we compare ourselves to Him and to others and find ourselves disgusting... but God still sees us as beautiful and He loves us despite what we see as ugliness. |

it seems like he means that he can't look past his shortcomings and he has trouble forgiving himself, so he doesnt think that God has the grace to forgive him. the part about the doves wings wiping away his tears though, shows that he has recieved grace before and he knows its there, he just doesn't think he deserves forgiveness since he has been so unforgiving.......... |

actually, i think that the grateful bastard son was the son who stayed with his father, because he was grateful for what he had but when his brother (the rich spoiled one) returned he was bitter and would not welome him. the prodigal is called the rich spoiled son because he did not appreciate what he had so he made his father give him half of his riches and he abandoned his family, but came back poor and broken..... |
