Anyone who has listened to alot of STD has probably noticed frequent brutal or descriptive refrences to the human body. I've heard some say "God, hes morbid" but i think otherwise. I think Chris's style shows like a blatant honesty. Like this ugly un sugar coated truth. When people hear colon, they dont think, oh thats romantic, or poetic, or pretty. Thats exactly why chris uses it. There is a beauty in that kind of honestness. We usually shy away from things that aren't "pretty", but chris forces it upon us, and its great! "i could write you song, send you a note, or empty out your trash" There is little romance in taking out garbage, but thats the point, its real life, because real life isnt pretty and sugar coated all the time.
I also think that his refrences to mutilation or bodily destruction shows his disregard for physical being. Like his body is nothing about who he is, he doesnt really need it, its just there. Just my thoughts. Only a lyrical genious like Chris could make colon, fuck, trash, blood, lungs, and flesh sound poetic |

Awesome song. It's funny how we interpret things differently according to our own experiences. When i first heard this, i thought it was about a situation where he's really close to this girl and, and she doesnt really want to be much more than friends, so she feeds him just enough affection so he'll stick around, so she can use him to cry on, or when shes lonely. He's tired of being lead on while shes gallavanting with some other guy like its no big thing. I guess i heard it as that becasue thats the best way for me to relate to it. "we're only friends" yeah, real good friends, i bet. |

Never have i heard 'fuck' sound so poetic. This song is the most beautiful revenge. If my friend wrote this song for me, it would hurt more than any fist fight or any other form of revenge.
