| Since nobody has any thoughts on this for 2 and a half years, I'll go ahead and state anything I want. Alright, this song is about a struggle based on what someone tried to force him to become. Most likely his parents, who tried to get him to become something beneficial to themselves (mutate me and breed yourselves a saviour). Apparently he wanted to work in aerospace (correct me if I'm wrong.), however no one would support that. Refusing any admittance into such field. It kills his chance to be one with the sky. I'm also sensing there's a history of parental brutality involved. It all leads up to a point where they attack eachother. He cannot kill his father, due to empathy. (I could not kill the dead man screaming, eat my dead cock.) He runs off and never becomes what he hopes to become. | |

I always thought that twist was supposed to be what was going on inside people's heads. Just random thoughts, random ideals. So on that chord, I thought that twist was the act of recreating something you love into something that is yours by running it through your mind several times. Oh well. Well.. I want to add something rather small. "Well he never reads and he never draws" This is guilt built up from not spending enought time building up logic and creativity. Left Lobe, Right Lobe. This is going to get me some flames for sure. Remember, this is a personal opinion. I am not calling a spade, "a spade." Alright. This is about the wonderful way we are destroying the planet. So we should be whipped out. Part one: The Trespassing into hell. We have quotes of people just dying to discover something new. Literally. This can translate to scientists who were willing to take any risks to learn something new about the world. Eventually we grow miserable without the opium of religion and more greedy due to resources that are more accsessable. Science leads to the seven deadly sins.. therefore science leads to hell. Part Two: The Rape of Mother Nature. Well, that's self explainitory. Part Three: The Ship Full of Fools Sinking. Aw, tragedy.. we all die because of science. Also note that "painting coal a perfect gold." This refers to alchemy. With what we know of alchemy, it causes very nasty things to the alchemists, like radiation poisoning. So what do we have here? People willing to whipe themselves out for the sake of science. A very good metaphor for my version of the song. |

| Fascinating enough, I believe this song is about alchoholism. She can't afford to pay for her apartment. Why's this? She spends most of her time trying to make herself happy. Eventually she becomes an alcoholic. Alcohol becomes her automatic flowers. Hence, She's drinking herself blind. (By the way, I agree endersshadow on the automatic flowers. Although, they're supposed to be the frilly innocence of the song.) | |

Alright. I'll make my thoughts on this quite simple. This song is about the actual system of a down. Notice on the website how this song is listed first in the lyrics? It's not alphebetical, and it's not numerical.. therefore, it must be quite important. Alright, First stanza.. downfall of technology. Second stanza.. terrorist factions form. Third Stanza.. War between government and civilians Verse.. More fighting. Notice "Photographic relapse." Could be refering to technology made to control riots. Fourth Verse.. War becomes free for all, every man for himself. Verse repeated twice. End of society. |

Alright. I have a deviant version of the meaning, if you will. Pretty much, this song is about progression of the human race without the restraints of ignorance or zeal. Religion was really well covered, so I will ignore that. "I will never feed off the evergreen luster of your heart...the women chant as they fly up to the sun." That brings out the current events with progression. We've pretty much been cleaning up our problems with society. People are actually aware of problems with the enviroment and are "breaking past the walls." The women chanting part shows we are not ignorant to women's rights. Once again with progress from when we thought we "knew" "You never think you know why." Well, the minute you think you know everything, you stop progressing. Ignorance at it's best. "Books all say different things...sheep that stray from the herd.. etc." That shows that people are trying to influence others constantly with what they know. It's only the individuals who progress society (fly) or are persicuted for their beliefs. Finally "don't try to fly." Don't do anything stupid just because you don't know better. That's just as bad as routine because of your beliefs. I'm offering this pile because of the whole, "Society is downgrading" theme of the self title album. Look at the back of your cd case and it explains, "system of a down." |
