jadespider--i totally just had the same revelation about this song! if you look at it in terms of war, it completely fits the idea...i think jason maybe meant it to have a double meaning...his lyrics are always so amazingly awesome! |

I think the lack-of-a-point IS the point of the song. Kind of saying that to find happiness you don't have to find a meaning to life. You just have to get swept away in your surroundings and go with the flow. |

Even though Michelob should have known that the Guster boys are Jewish, he may be partially right. I know that they sometimes purposely make some of their songs seem to be Christian just because they are Jewish. Maybe the song is about some random person who sacrificed himself for the good of others; if so, they could have worded it the way they did in order to show that they feel Jesus's acts were no different than any other man's acts. That's just a crazy guess though. |
