i've read on other message boards (i forget which ones.) that the lead singer (forgot his name) dedicated the song to his father. so, my thoughts are that maybe either his father or his grandfather killed himself, and now the son is looking at his father's life and death ("Swimming through the ashes of another life "), which makes him want to kill himself too. but then again, i don't want to give people the wrong idea about the song. this is just a wild guess. |

| Dishwalla – Counting Blue Cars Lyrics

as for what the song means or whether dishwalla are christians, i have absolutely NO idea because i've heard this one song quite a few times on the radio a long time ago but never looked up the lyrics or even the song name and who it was sung by until about ten minutes ago.
concerning whether God if male or female, He is neither physically since, as the catachism i was forced to memorize in elementary school says, "God is a Spirit and does not have a body like man,"; but, personality-wise, He is referred to as both ("the Everlasting Father" as male and "El Shaddai which literally means "the breasted one" as female).
i guess the reason most people think of Him as male is due to the fact that Jesus was male. since Jesus IS God, people focus on the male aspects of God.
NOTE: i refer to God as "He" because, well pretty much everyone else does and i've been taught this way since i was born. i don't think referring to God as "She" or "He/She" is any more correct since, like i said, they're all wrong. until an "asexual" pronoun (other than "it") is invented, i'll use "He". |
