I know what was meant by this song. It's biblical. Maynard was basically counting all the crimes that could be committed by man, passed down by god himself. The 10 Commandments. It just goes to show you how far humanity has grown accustomed to the ancient rules, which still exist in some form in society today, but are still being committed. |

actually this song is about war, just like QWERTY said. Echelon is an ancient word meaning 'the formation of troops in parallel divisions'.
I think this is the most influential song on the album because it relates to the meaning behind the name of 30 seconds to mars. There's also a bit of symbolism that's seen here too. This song is basically about a battle, which is never-ending. Also Mars is the god of war in ancient mythology. |
