Why is it one of their worst? Are the words too big for you? I think it's one of their best. The basslines are great, the words are well used, and there's not a damn thing wrong with this song.

Yes. He lived by Lake Michigan when he was in Chicago. Like in the verson of 'This Could Be Love" he sings about a bunch of bodies of water by where he used to live, like a creek, Berkley Marina, and Lake Michigan. Anyways, it's just that he used to live by Lake Michigan.

Hate to break it to you, but have you heard the song "My Little Needle"? Matt, and only Matt, does cocaine. Dan is a drinker and I don't know much about Derek, but I bet he smokes too. And before you doubt me, I saw Matt shooting up after a show last year.

Alkaline Trio – While You're Waiting Lyrics

First off, I would like to say just because people call Alkaline Trio an "emo" band, that doesn't make every single one of their songs about a breakup. Next, I think the "Be thankful for your fingers" like can have either one of two meanings. If you believe the self-mutilation/suicide meaning of the song, then the lyrics could mean that the person is thankful that the fingers can be used to kill him/herself. If you take it another way, it could be a completely sexual meaning. The way this song turns out, I would lay odds on the fact it's more about the suicide meaning, rather than the masturbation meaning.
