:( This song is so sad... i dont know what its about, but it has so much emotion in it... its nice to hear the softer side of pantera too.. i think that this song tho, is quite possibly about a drug addict - who has become empty, as satanswizardo666 said. I dont think it would be about a dude in a coma, because it says how he sits with blank expressions - if you're in a coma you dont do that, you're just asleep i guess? Either way, this is definitely one of Pantera's best :D |

I think Rob is reflecting on his life, the pain he has been through "I've seen the world thru jaded eyes" - he see's differently to most others because of his experiences- abuse & such things. "I've watched the darkness hypnotise" - almost like deperssion [darkness] has overpowered him. "Caress the needle prick in my skin" - Heroin... "Ive seen the light on suidice & i'm dying" - very straight foward, he has seen the advantages of suicide "And im dying" - he doesnt mean literally, just dying in his head... The chorus is straight forward... "These scars need to heal over" - he needs to overcome depression & stuff... "Colder & Colder" - he may mean that he is growing colder & colder over time "Just hold onto me", might mean dont give up on him, stay with him... help him thru it... btw, great song... |

Rob was abused as a child. That is obvious if you listen to his lyrics, as the red jester said... Hunger for more, compare the burning red to a britney spears album, and tell me again... what's crap? TBR may be extremely different to TMTC and BME, but it doesnt make it crap, they have just taken a different, more lighter, melodic approach, lol. |

This song is one of Pantera's best; not only are the lyrics completely emotion-grabbing, but the instrumental work is fucking crazy! I Love Pantera! LoL, metalhead13, a person can't die at their funeral. If it is their funeral then they are already dead :P Crow Graves where did you find out that his girlfriend killed himself?? This song is obviously about the death of his girlfriend - why else would he use so many death refrences? It would be too dramatic if it was just a breakup. |
