Pure poetry. When you find someone too perfect, and this someone only stays perfect for the night, well what do you do? You want to commit suicide with him/her to become endless. Drowning in deep black water, and drowning in each other. I find this tune hauntingly beautiful. The electric guitar-part is wonderful. |

Andrew wants to explore the feelings without them being named, and "Because the world is cruel and Promises are broken Don't try to tell me Anything don't try to tell me You'll be true to me you know the Real truth is never spoken" are lines that show us that very much is fake, unreal, not genuine. It's about here and now, "names are just for souvenirs". In the first verse it is proved that he once had a beautiful lovestory to tell - but words got in the way, and that he now wants the pure thing - to be emotionally fulfilled. |

| The cave is probably a metaphor that describes an imprisoned state of mind. And the feeling of being locked in forever with grey cats - maybe that are deteriorating - is just as haunting as the song can be in its morbid beauty. I love it. | |

I get the feeling that the first part is about two teenagers who understand each other very well. But one of them, the I in the song, wants more - "I wish I was yours". The other part of the song describes how they meet again after many years. The lines "Strangers / Nobody knows we love" tell us that the I hasn't forgotten the other part that he shared secrets with. The lines show that they share some kind of deep untitled love. The look that relives the memory is the look that first made the I fall "in love", but he can't respond to the other part as he did so many years ago, therefore he wants "her" to remember him as the "boy" he was. Otherwise she will feel disappointment. Maybe because he lost a part and changed into someone new when she disappeared. He got lost... My ex loves this song, and I met her eyes at a Cure concert. Beautiful and sometimes painful memories. |
