The band (perhaps with Ed calling the shots) have made their stand years back. You know that they (Ed) took the green partys and Ralph Naders side during the rally for presidency? Even sang for Nader and his fans during his campaign. PJ even gave Nader funds for his campaign. So this is not a first timer (or last one) if you believe so. | |

The second line I mention symbolize stairs down into an endless hole of drug abuse... He's trying to say there's no point in loving him... He won't be able to give much back in return... |

You can't call yourself a musiclover if you don't even manage to hear the different voices in this song! The combination of voices in the music of AIC is a huge part of what makes it so great! The way Layne and Jerry fullfills eachother is incredible! (or was incredible!) Rest in peace Layne... Layne had a great voice, and no one can sing like him. Eddie (Vedder) once said that no one should try to copy his voice! Probobly since they only would ruin it...! Alice in Chains is present my 2. favourite band after Pearl Jam. This is indeed a great song! |

A lovely song! This song is about your love for your friends and family, not for a girl. It symbolize what you trust your friends with, f.ex. secrets and feelings about a girl. We can very easily see this in the lyrics. "If I told you a secret You won't tell a soul Will you hold it and Keep it alive" -and f.ex. "Baby, love will come through It's just waiting for you" Either telling a friend this or beeing told by. |
