I saw somewhere that Dani writes about the rape and murder of someone close to him. Kinda makes you look at the song a little differently. I'm sure the reference to priests is not as straightforward as it seems. To me, priests symbolize hypocrisy and selfishness. Perhaps the people that committed the act thought themselves righteous by doing what they did. The burning of the chapel also seems metaphorical, but I'm not sure how. Perhaps by "burning their chapel", Dani has destroyed what they thought would keep them safe. I'm sure only he knows what that would be. I can only speculate... |
