I guess you could relate it to record companies, but when you read the whole song it seems as though as it's about our capitalist governent, especially the last verse of the song, describing the impact it has not only on ourselves but our environment as well. |

Disregarding whether the song is about heroin or coke, the point of view still hasn't been discussed. He's not talking about someone else, that is rare, he's obviously very self analytical. It's not from his perspective, the context shows that. I take it as he's talking through another substance, quite possibly alcohol. He uses the same style in Between the Bars, as someone had already noted in the comments of that song. |
