Hmm I think the first verse, especially the line "stake down to your center...better than this" means that he is expressing his love for a girl. He drills the stake and says it's never been better, so he is skipping all the small talk and straight up telling her that he's in love. "Hung my shirt.." shows that he is truly committed to the relationship. The chorus and second verse show that he was wrong though. She keeps lying, so he doesn't know her trueself. He admits that he was misguided by the 405, and that he was wrong to enter the relationship, so he falls back on alcohol. The last lines "missed the exit..underneath the patio" shows that he is trying to get out of the mess. She tries to hide her bad habits and he criticizes her for that because he is tired of her games. meh, that's my interpretation. |

in true rufio form, this song kicks ass. but also in true rufio form, this song seems to switch gears in the middle. in the first verse he seems to be lotheing someone -Every single breath I take is spitting out your name then in the pre chorus/chorus it's like he's trying to get back intouch with someone, but they shut him out. then in the last little ditty it's like that even though this person is rejecting him, he is still going to pursue him/her just my take. |

fuck man. no one cares about all of the bands you like. and who asked you to make a list of the movies you're going to buy? Man this song is so amazing but around everyone i know it seems to be way too overlooked. I think this song is about 'getting to the breaking point', or just losing it. The verses are about how he is on his way to just losing it: "So ask me where will I be, It seems I’ll never know. You’ll never find me again" a really good song because it is as if he "loses it" in the big solo. whatever, my take on the song..maybe im just really angry.. |

i think this song is about getting rid of a part of your self, or simply pushing someone away. -were you sent to save me? at first he is lost and reaching out to find comfort in someone, but is also hesitant about it - I've thought too much, you won't find anything... Worthy of redeeming - Burn now, what once was breathing getting rid of that part of yourself -Look what I've built, it shines so beautifully Now watch as it destroys me realizing how much he loathes that "part of himself" - I left it all behind, and never said goodbye ..etc how he is letting go of the part |
