This song is amazing as is most everything Rob had done. Yeah, Ann Beretta took a different direction after leer left the band, but I don't think that they 'stink' per se, I still prefer AB to a lot of other bands. |

As for my'bullshit support the troops lip-service', I suppose if the majority of our fighting men and women hold views and attitudes that mirror your own, I shall have my care-packages rerouted to starving children in some third-world country who don't kill anyone! That should be fine until said third world country is deemed a threat to national security and we bomb the vilage containing the aforementioned starving children! |

Tye8727, I'm not arguing that Sadam Hussein was not a dangerous man, I'm arguing that the war was started under false pretenses!i.e. chemical and biological weapons manufacturing! Was removing Hussein from power necessary and in the best interest of the Iraqi people? Absolutely, but you also ignore the fact that Hussein was a two-headed monster that your beloved CIA helped create and supported during the Iran-Iraq war (gasing the Kurds=good, burning oil reserves=BAD!! But let's not pretend that the ends absolutely justify the means in this case.
As for the CIA and NSA, whatever, its all the same machine! The president just gets the blunt of the blame because he is the figurehead and the face of the war. |

texas_tank, I'm very sorry that your father spent two years in Iraq putting his life on the line for a bunch of lies. The Iraq War was started over fairy tales of 'chemical and biological weapons' and the mental image of the 'smoking gun becoming a mushroom cloud'. We still have yet to find any WMD's in Iraq. The war was also supported by drawing imaginary parallels between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda which did not exist. Sorry you were lied to and even more sorry that you believe it! As for your intrepretaion of the song, you are partially correct. The song is about the ineffectual nature of protest songs, ("Protest songs to try and stop the soldier's gun...But the battle raged on.")
because for the most part they are preaching to the choir and serve little purpose other than being battle cries for the anti-war movement. |

Why are there so many comments on this song? The meaning to any Casualties songs can be summed up in one sentence, "We want fourteen year olds who just threw away their blink and Good Charlotte albums to give us their money!". |

Wow, that makes me lose a little respect for the band! They felt really bad about signing to a major label and felt like they were 'selling out', and then they went it did it anyways? That's the true definition of a sellout! Forget about 'punk cred' or 'indie cred' or any of that garbage that only teenagers with mohawks care about, but if you do something that makes you personally uncomfortable for filthy lucre, then it's a different story. Maybe they felt different when they signed to warner than they did when they wrote the song, in that case I suppose it's alright! But if they betrayed teir own ideology when they signed to warner, that's really sad! |

How can you name-drop bands through an entire sogn and only manage to name four decent bands (in my opinion)? sunny dar real estate, pmfs, jets to brazil and hot water music, for the love of god these guys are on fueled by ramen, they could've at least thrown less than jake in there, it would've mad it slightly better! |

Wow possibly the most controversial song of all time only get 11 comments? Anyhow, back when this song dropped, it was cool and dangerous, by today's standards, it's not that great, Sure Ice-T made the statement because that's how he was feeling, but why people got all up in arms about it is beyond me! There are plenty of songs that adress corrupted officails and suggest that they sould be 'gotten rid of', that doesn't mean someone's actually going to do it. Anyways it's messed up that ice-t had to pull this song from the record! |

I don't think 'Lou' is a reference to Lou Reed but rather Lou Barlow of Dinosuar Jr. and the aforementioned, Sebadoh, but I don't kow for sure. 'Calvin', I think refers to Calvin Johnson of Beat Happening and K records fame, but, once again I'm just guessing! |

Mumia Abu Jamal is a killer. The only three people who saw the murder were Jamal himself, his brother, and the murdered Philadelphia police
First of all, those two sentences together make no sense!! You attest that Mumia is guilty yet you recognize the fact that the only people there were Mumia, his brother, and police officers, none of which includes you! You also sound ridiculous when you talk about RATM's "beats". What kind of idiot would listen to music that is highly political (leftist) if they completely disagree with it. I don't care how good a song sounds, I'm not going to support music that glorifies things such as war, capital punishment, or George Bush, when it goes against what I stand for, get some morals! |

The refernce to "arrest the president" may be alluding to the intelligent hoodlum's song because he says "the cool kids were all rocking votes" an allusion to the "rock the vote" campaign of the early 90's around the same time the intellignet hoodlum had a small hit with the track. However, his connections to anicon would suggest the Pedestrian song. |

"It just goes to show anarchism and socialism are just a joke. Because not one believer in them takes them seriously. They'll lose interest in the "revolution" because most people grow up. "

Heartbreakingly good song, it's weird when "Ten" came out I was 13 and I easily related this song to my feelings on life and a relationship I was in at the time, now at 25 I can relate to it just as easily to my current feelings and most recent relationship! I remember on the mTV Unplugged version and a couple of live versions in the 90's eddie added the line "we belong together" at the end of the song, it was so simple, yet it resonated so well, I dunno why! |

The thing I love about this band is that, they don't subscribe to just one style of music or one topic. They can be fun, or they can be political. They can do weezeresque alternapop or they can do reggae-ska songs, great band! |
