This song means a lot to me, and helps me get through harder times. Maybe it shouldn't, but when he says "this is the last time" I remember that. Im not letting it happen again. The words he writes about love and loss is so true, you don't care about anything else, the time, anyone around you, and it's hard to even breathe. We all think we're wonderful until someone grabs our heart and twists it with hate and spite, and Chris clearly knows about it all. |

This song is by far my favorite song by John Mayer. I have not yet heard one song from John that I have not liked, but this one stands out overall. We all have, or at least will love someone in our life that we can't hold onto forever, and we'll always find that other person to replace them. The rebound will never ever be anything like your first love, especially when you're sitting there and comparing them constantly. John hit it right on the spot with his 'I loved you, grey sweatpants, no makeup, so perfect.' True love is being able to look at someone without their drawn on faces and still loving them pure as all hell, loving them more as they are. |
