| Sleeping At Last – Capture Lyrics

the first time i ever saw this band was either at Vinyl Underground in West Chicago, or at West Chicago Bible Church. they were amazing. even now, as i am no longer a christian, the whole album Capture is still great. i have so many great memories.
this song was always amazing live. i was kind of mad when they stopped playing this song (and the rest of stuff from Capture) |

| Thursday – The Other Side of the Crash/Over and Out (Of Control) Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
this song is a direct counterpart to Understanding In A Car Crash, just from a different perspective.
especially evident in the lines: "crash my car everyday the same way" (Understanding...) and "Keep crashing this car, over and over" (this one).
there is also repeated references to needles, broken glass, it being late at night ("the middle of the night" in this song, and "12:03" in Understanding...)
additionally, you can couple the line "it'll never be the same - don't look away. I need to know if this is real. don't look away" in this song with "These broken windows, open locks, reminders of the youth we lost. In trying so hard to look away from you" in Understanding...

"Everything Falls Apart" was a song, and album, by Hüsker Dü.
when said album got released as a cd in 1993, they tacked some bonus songs on it, and called it "Everything Falls Apart and More."
this song is another love song by The Ergs!, but the title is a straight up Hüsker Dü reference |

well, given that he is talking about Radio K, it is fair to assume he is in Minneapolis or St. Paul. the Minneapolis Skyway System is pretty expansive. so, feasibly, he probably could get home using it.
Additionally, it is also probably making reference to the song "Skyway" by The Replacements. |

the vocal part at the end of the chorus is awesome.
anyway, The Queers dislike hippies (see also: Granola Head) and this about that. also, this song features the original singer for the band, Wimpy |

this made me laugh. whoever submitted these lyrics is retarded. mostly because they left fags and asshole uncensored, but then censored the word fuck.
i suspect anyone reading lyrics by The Queers is not going to be offended by the word "fuck." i mean, that would imply they listen to the band, and with songs like "Fuck This World" and "I Want Cunt," the probably are not offended by language.
just saying.
anyway, another song in the fine tradition of The Queers being mad and hating things. |

| The Queers – I Can't Stay Mad at You Lyrics

this is a cover song. the original is by Skeeter Davis.
she was kind of a pop/country artist. more on the pop side than country though, in my opinion. the original was pretty popular back in 1963. |

this song is actually, like Boxcar, about the Berkley punk scene. specifically, it was written in anticipation of the backlash and sellout claims that the band was expecting (and had already begun getting) as a result of signing to a major label |

| Johnny Thunders And The Heartbreakers – Chinese Rocks Lyrics

Dee Dee Ramone wrote this. Richard Hell wrote, like, one line...Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan had dick all nothing to do with writing this song. this song was written in response to Richard Hell wanting to write a song about heroin that was better than the Velvet Underground's song "Heroin."
in Dee Dee's biography, Dee Dee talks about this song:
"When Jerry (Nolan, of the Heartbreakers) was over at my place one day, we did some dope and then I Played him my song, and he took it with him to a Heartbreakers' rehearsal. When Leee Childers started managing them, and got them a record deal, "Chinese Rocks" was their first single of LAMF."
"...it was dedicated to the boys on Norfolk Street, I can understand that, but the credits are false. Johnny Thunders ranked on me for fourteen years, trying to make out like he wrote the song. What a lowlife maneuver by those guys! By then, I was really too fucked up to care." |

ok...i understand the whole sexist argument people are making. but that probably is not why it was removed from the record.
i think the imagery of a band of young kids talking about stabbing someone at school MAY be the reason.
not saying the record company is right...but i think you are fucking wrong |

ok...the phrase "your fucking on dope" could also refer to heroin.
see kids, dope has two meanings. if it did not, the Toxic Narcotic song "Shoot People, Not Dope" would make no fucking sense at all.
also, the red eye this can also refer to booze. if you are drunk enough, your eyes can get blood shot and glassy. |

actually, this says nothing of the movement of anarchism or socialism. rather it shows that those two movement have assholes in them, just like any other movement. supporters of free market capitalism and reprentative democracy have just as many, if not more, assholes in their ranks. this is about the people who claim to be involved in a movement they could give a shit less about. |
