| Onelinedrawing – Better Than This Lyrics | 22 years ago |

i like the part where he plays word games and turns familiar occurances on end "Honest husbands, cheating wives Generous buyers, greedy stores " "Peaceful people, violent guns Sober drivers, drunken cars " this song is crazy good... powerful.. i'll say it 10 times over.... (ok. i won't... but only to not use rediculous quantities of space) |

| Elliott – Dying Midwestern Lyrics | 22 years ago |

wow... no one commented on this song. well. i'm first. this song is simply amazing... i'm not referring to the lyrics (which.. honestly. i can't understand a word he says in the song.. and even reading them... they just don't really make all that much sense) its the feeling the song gives you... the buildup is wonderful.. and the whole song is just one big emotional release.. it just sounds like he's mourning.. the anguish just builds over the entire song until he's almost screaming.. mm emo. on a personal note.. my friend put this song on a mixtape for me (thats where i first heard it.) she's from kansas.. and it wasn't long after that she attempted suicide (thank god attempted)... but i guess she was a 'dying midwestern'... gives me chills every time. |

Fadingreflection... excellent interpretation! i think you're right.. and i didn't see it till you saw it.. it probably explains the musical shift from bouncy to depressing.. and works perfectly with the story of the album (this album is a story book of Conor's journey.. but i probably don't need to tell any of you that) but still. i love this song.. it reminds me of my friend.. i can't stand to see her upset.. but she's so easy to make laugh... so i keep making her laugh everytime she feels sad until its all ok :) |

| The Movielife – Hey Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| exercise can also mean to "act out" like when you "exercise an option"... but ... it sure would be interesting if they had chosen "exorcise".... crazy connotations there... but as for me... sex is a mmm wonderful, beautiful thing... don't exorcise me! | |
| They Might Be Giants – She's An Angel Lyrics | 22 years ago |

i agree more with slugsinthefield.. this song is about when you meet your perfect girl and you drive yourself CRAZY trying to be good enough for her... love is a funny thing. i think this song is about him meeting his "perfect girl" and being in total disbelief ("These things happen to other people, They don't happen at all.. in fact.") and also being speachless over her (the space program part) perfect girls don't exist... but sometimes.. it sure feels that way... doesn't it? |

| The Promise Ring – Jersey Shore Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
this song is totally jersey.. excellent trademark p.ring wordplay ("bored walking on the boardwalk.."). yum. jersey is rediculously awesome... other than california.. i've yet to find anyone who could even COMPARE their state up against it... i'll take my 8-lanes-into-one-giant-free-for-all-lane Garden State Parkway tollbooth exits and my jersey shore any day. whoo! |

| New End Original – Lukewarm Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| ahhh. this song should become a poster on my wall. (i hope jonah reads that and starts selling posters like that :)) *i never wanna say my best days are behind me* words to live by... i thought it was cool how he busted the hebrew in there all casually.. i didn't know jonah was jewish before this song. (note: for those who dont' know.. ivri is hebrew for... well hebrew.. and baruch ata HaShem is "Blessed is God") | |
| Onelinedrawing – 14 to 41 Lyrics | 22 years ago |

jonah is simply amazing.. i've seen him live twice.. the first time he said he had a sore throat.. and i didn't believe him, cuz he sounded pretty good... but he must have been telling the truth.. cuz the second time he was so amazing.. mm. definately someone who's having fun.. music needs more people like jonah but that said.. did anyone notice how all the ages in the song have digits that sum to 5? 14 - 1+4 =5 41 - 4+1 = 5 same with 23, 32 and 41... the only exception is 16 but everyone knows that 16 is a mixed up backwards age to be... and 6-1 = 5 ...... wierd.... i asked jonah about this and he said "there are a lot of wierd coincidences about this song, a lot of stuff i never intended when i wrote it..." hrrrm. food for thought anyway... :) |
