Dispatch – Steeples Lyrics 23 years ago
I personally think this song is about Jesus Christ, Spatch is fairly religious (I think Brad and Chad are devoted christians) Here's my explanation: "I heard a story about a boy ...But it did not end there, the boy began to swim
And dared to the sea that dared to invade him." When JC (Jesus Christ) came to earth was about twleve when he found that he was the Son of God (boy), and he was suddenly swept into a lifestyle in which he would end up being ridiculed a whole lot (dared to the sea that dared to invade him., but he accepted (...began to swim) The silent steeple part is the quiet yet powerful mission of JC that brings us away from sin. But when the people rejected him the boy pomised to sacrifice himself (but the sea wouldn't reply, ...swore to the ships...to die)
The red sky thing is a saying, its about weather and how you can tell from the sky, this line is JC's message that people should be thankful for what they've been given, but not take everything as a blessing, sometimes the same thing can be a warning too. The sail on take it bcak part, is God saying "you have to die on the cross" and Jesus, like he did in the bible saying (more or less) take it back. The boy in the waves gave us everything he had (Jesus gave love, forgiveness, life, legacy), and the part about the scar and ten years before probly relates to when everyone was a kid and God was in the sky and he loved you period end of story, and there will be a point where we lose that feeling and gain it back. My favorite song of all time EXCEPT if you wanna hear a great version DL Steeples except make sure the album is Gut the Van its about seven minutes long and is the best song I've heard thus far.

Dispatch – Hey, Hey Lyrics 23 years ago
Hey, Hey...when I've played this song for my friends, I get this weird but wonderful reaction. These people have never heard the song, or the band...but most of the listeners actually started singing along by the end of the song. This song to me, is about having pride in yourself and being more greedy with your emotions. The first part of the song is usually how attraction begins, thinking about acting all slick and whatnot, but doubting yourself at the same time. The second part seems to be a plea to his "audience," make it easy on yourselves and be yourself, you wont trick anyone into liking or loving you, they'll know for sure, this workds toward both parties himself and his "audience." The third part shows the anger that sometimes broods against even those who we are pining over. What do they know about us? (There's alotta things that you don't know). What do they care? (you don't care). There's alot they wouldn't try to understand (that you don't wanna see) Even if i caught you I'd throw you back. (How do we know they'd deserve our feelings?) The fourth part is the emotional greed I mentioned, he says I dont wanna fall (back) for you, because he doesn't honestly think his "audience" would appreciate his sacrifice, so what's the use of falling for them when the pain of rejection will come, and self-rejection because maybe no one wants to catch you when you fall. AN amazing song, and four words: HARMONY CHAINS ROCK HARD
