Grateful Dead – Bird Song Lyrics 21 years ago
If you hear that same sweet song again, will you know why?
Anyone who sings a tune so sweet is passin' by,

I love this two lines. It's something I think many of us can relate to very strongly: people enter our lives, make us so happy but then have to leave.

Grateful Dead – Fire On The Mountain Lyrics 21 years ago
These lyrics are written at Robert Hunter's ranch somewhere (in California) when there were huge forest fires all around them in the hills.

My idea is that it's referring to the story of Phidippides who ran the huge distance from Marathon to Athens to warn his people of the Persion invaders who were landing.

It's the same idea of urgency, of a city about to be distroyed, and the responsibility all comes down to one person who has a chance....

Led Zeppelin – Ten Years Gone Lyrics 22 years ago
Listen to what Robert Plant says just before they play this at Knebworth. I've forgotten the exact words but it is about your first love, 'The one you always remember'.

An absolutely amazing song, and the guitar solo is pure bliss... such a lovely thick and creamy tone.

The Smashing Pumpkins – The Aeroplane Flies High (Turns Left, Looks Right) Lyrics 23 years ago
"The airplane flies high...turns left, looks right"

I take the meaning of this to be that when you are feeling very confident you often make choices that are wrong for you, and then you're always thinking about how you should have chosen another way.

That single line is so meaningful. I many of us can easily relate to that, i know i can.

Pink Floyd – Echoes Lyrics 23 years ago
According to a semi reliable source Waters said that the 2001 sync with this song is not total conincidence, but only because the song was partly inspired by that "Infinity and Beyond" scene.

The Wizard of Oz sync with DSoTM is total bullshit - it doesn't exist. There are a few conincidences, but none of them are very remarkable.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Here Is No Why Lyrics 23 years ago
Billy is saying to all the lonely teenagers out there "You aren't going to get anywhere by sitting still and feeling bad about yourself".
