Litening to this song for the first time i thought "oh no it's maynard being anti-christian again :(" (im a christian you see). But from reading the comments on here and knowing Tool/apc's message (think for yourself) and also thinking about Tool's album and song opiate it is possibly more about just listening to say, a pastor/bishop/vicar/whatever preaching and believing everything they say, rather than forming your own opinions and doctorines by reading the bible. Also the fact that dogma is from catholicism, and catholicism is criticised for turning christianity into following a worldly man and simply following rituals, that might be significant if the song was intended to be what i've said. This might just be an optomistic view of the song and turning it round so i don't get offended, but ah well. |

yeah its mint, the song (to me anyway) seems to be about hes got a friend (girlfriend?) thats upset and he wants to help them, but they won't let him, and possibly that they are drifting apart in their friendship |
