I can see why people would think it was about a male prostitute:
"I'm happy to be your back door man"
I always wondered why that line was in there because I thought the song was about a guy being a hit-man or whatever. |

Well I think the song is pretty self explanitory, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there is someone else who sings the chorus with Brian...because it sounds like it. |

I'm a little lost on what this song means...something about sex maybe...and drugs. And I agree with Tristax!...where is this song from?? |

CountMyCrows...I totally agree with the John Cusack thing. I thought I was the only one. Apparently not. |

ummm i might be wrong...but about the fiddle part at the end, i think it has something to do with meher baba's and terry o'riley's backgrounds. Like the fiddle for instance, isn't that an irish kind of instrument (representing o'riley), but the tune that it's playing sounds like it came from asia or india, which would represent baba. any thoughts on this? |

This song always reminds me of the movie Forrest Gump. How he and Jenny played when they were little outside and then how 'she took her love for to gaze awile', that strikes me as her leaving, trying to figure out who she was and what she wanted to do. And then the third stanza is the part when Forrest asks her to marry him, and the fourth is her using him and then leaving. The fifth would be when Forrest is running and running and thinking about her all the time. 'but i swear in the days still left' would be Forrest loving her until she dies. The sixth would be when he goes to visit Jenny and finds out that he is a dad. Then little Forrest is running around outside just like his dad used to. 'as the sun goes down' could represent Jenny dying. The last stanza is like Forrest remembering Jenny for the rest of his life and remembering how they played when they were little. This is just what I think, but I guess you can manipulate words anyway you want to get your point across. |
