I am so in love with this song... as most of you already said, the part where he says...

i don't even know how to explain it... those are some of the most beautiful lyrics ever in my opinion.. |

I think parts of this song may be about meditating.
"I'll lay me down tonight, much further down" - when you meditate a common technique is to visualize yourself sinking down.
"with all erased" - all thoughts erased.
"all insects sing tonight" - it's real quiet except he can hear the insects outside.
"What follows me as the whitest lace of light" could be a visualization of his astral self.
I heard someplace he was a Wiccan and Wiccans do meditate so it kinda fits. |
