i absolutely LOVE this song. it's about her having many sides--jekyll and hyde--and she can't decide how she wants to feel so she hides all those sides deep within herself but then she just cant keep it bottled up and she explodes. all the different feelings she feels are playing a "tug of war" within her and she just doesnt want to feel them all. in the end, she gives up, "feeling weak" |

| this song is about a naive girl in love with an unreachable bad boy type of guy. he probably has his fun with her and then goes out with the other girls who are eyeing him but the girl tries to shrug this off because he actually chose *gasp* her to be his flavor of the week. and she keeps stubbornly telling herself that she doesnt me, she can "pacify problems with kisses and cuddles" then she is "choking on her contradictions" and she knows he's bad but she's insecure and cant let go. | |

this song is amazing. it was the first switchblade song i ever heard and i was instantly hooked. i think this song is about hiding from the fake, critical, superficial that are so widespread. the conformity is coming to devour him/her but he/she is hiding and won't let themselves conform to society's standards. "sickened eyes seem to mesmerize"--society's "sickened eyes" try to bring him/her to assimilation. as he/she grows stronger, society's eyes melt even as they "glow"...try to bring him/her to conformity. or maybe i just think too much *grin* |

heh, if you want, you can take this in a pro-nature type of way. first off, the title. "green" . the colour green is always associated with the environment. and then, the sad person comes with "electric tears"...meaning, they arent in tune with nature and are too focused on being tech-advanced and this is ruining them. "you're flying much too high"--mankind is going too far with technology and people need to literally stop and smell the roses. |

i interpret this song as "freaks"--basically unique people who were rejected from society and they are getting their revenge on the people who snubbed them. the laughter in the end is perfect to end this song...it sounds insane and vengeful. it ties this great song up nicely. |

the wrecking yard could be a metaphor to a "place" inside a person's head where their bad memories are stored and must be wrecked and gotten rid of, forgotten. the person "walks through the wrecking yard"...aka strolls through memory lane and cannot let go of the horrible memories and is therefore depressed, living in their bad past. and they talk about it all the time (gather round to hear this tale, a story which has grown old) |

first off, i want to say that i absolutely adore switchblade symphony. i was introduced to them by my bf. and this song really reminds me of him...basically, in my opinion, it is a song about a person who is foolish (the metaphorical "clown") who does bad things (basically...drugs) and they feel wonderful...that high and all...but they always come back down to earth and feel horrible. and they are like one of those sad clowns that needs to entertain and be entertained but is always sad . my bf needs to stop with the drugs :( |

this song could be taken in a sexual way. it could mean that trent (or whoever the viewpoint may be coming from) needs sex to make himself forget everything else. he is insecure and depressed and wants to feel power. with a submissive partner, he can do this and therefore bring himself closer to his warped sense of divinity or what he feels is the best place he can be. and he needs this partner to get there and he doesnt care by what means he gets to his destination...a feeling of enlightenment. or, this song could be taken non-sexually. he could be saying that he wants to "fuck" everything in society, and everyone...to just get away from it all and be who he wants to be and this has been hard for him to do ("scraped off my knees") and he took from society what he needed (i drink the honey in your hive) and now he can be who he wants to be...his own personal goal..."closer to god." or i could be wrong :D hehe |
