| Alkaline Trio – In Vein Lyrics

I think it's about 2 people dealing with substance abuse... one person getting out but doesn't want to lose the other (emotionally abusive?) person who still is using or needs someone/something as a replacement for the substance. The person doesn't want to be the replacement for what made the other user feel good.
Users keep each other down/ using so that they have a partner and so they still have companionship despite the state of things.
The 'in vein' is double edge, it insinuates the substance w/ the "vein" usage but the person still has feeling so he can't simply walk away but he doesn't want to go back 'in vain' knowing the other person 'needs him'.
Just a guess...... or something.... heh. |

| The Flaming Lips – Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1 Lyrics

Who cares what he's really writing about.
All you die hard fans can rest assured you know the truth.
But I think this website promotes personal response/ meaning through actuality AND subjective internalization.
I don't even listen to the Flaming Lips but the first time I heard this song it brought me to tears - sometimes music just has the words you need/ want to hear.
I don't care if this 'she' is 'really battling robots' because all I know is that there was me in a car battling Maryland. |

| Rainer Maria – Thought I Was Lyrics

I can't tell what I think.... musically I think - 80s retro indie pop-rock.... but the lyrics are irresistable. It's a very empowering song for anyone who's going through a rough time trying to figure out what to do. |

| Edna's Goldfish – Eventually, Anyway Lyrics

"Veronica Sawyer" got me hooked on this band, I heard it in my best friend at the time, Andy's dorm room my freshman year at college. Near the end of the year our friendship dissolved. I am still obsessed with Edna's Goldfish, but all of their songs have this hint of bittersweetness because of him.... this song completely captures that. "will i mean that little to you eventually, anyway?" |

this song depicts the demise of religion in a purely technological society. What's the point of religion if people are too busy trying to get rich quick and shit like that. It's a really clever song if you get the lyrics. |

this song is how the guy is supposed to feel after being so close for a few months, spending all their time together, even though he's leaving... and in order to cut it short and keep himself from hurting he ends the relationship early destroying the girl.... i hope he feels this way. |

The two verses are phenominal, had there been a better chorus, this song could have been incredible. Although I can't insult his 'vision' however, it seems like he really copped out on the chorus.... it seems like an unfinished song... which is sad because I really like the verses. |

| Sense Field – Waiting For Something Lyrics

It's one of those songs that I can't decide if I love or hate upon first listen. The lyrics are amazing and self explanitory... just needing that excitement, the thrill of life. I'll have to listen to it a few more times to decide how I feel.... same with the rest of the Cd.... although sometimes those turn out to be the best ones..... sometimes. |

| Something Corporate – If I Die Lyrics

I don't think it's all that severe.... i think there's someone in this person's life who he cares about but she's making it tough for him, so he's about ready to just leave and go off and start over. Sometimes you realize it's time to move on. I anticipated it to be a slower sad song, but I think in it's faster tempo I realized the actual meaning of the song. |

can we please not degrade this song despite it's pop punk catchy appeal? the lyrics are really involved despite the mtv-quality of it all. i think it should be heroin, the drug.... i take this as every hipster chick in the scene's dream of having a rock star boyfriend. and that was so nauseatingly proven by annika ;) adorable song. |

It's wanting someone so badly you can't hold back. Even though they might have someone else, or you know you two aren't supposed to be together, you need that person more than air at that point. It is beautifully written, this is a great song.
