takingbackfinch, i hate to be negative but your interpretation not only does not make sense whatsoever, but it's referring to things that aren't even in the song. As for the Sudden Death Inn, and such... yeah ... uh... no. And you're reading way too literally. I like diebydesign's much better. I'd say simply that he is/was in a relationship that he wanted to stay in but she's just (most likely emotionally) abusive, and he keeps paying for staying in the relationship. Maybe, quite possibly, it ended and he's kinda bitter cos he put up with it, and now he's still "dead" after all his struggling. meh, i dunno. |

anyway i think it's about living in spite of the fact that she's turned away from him. the last line may be dreaming? sleeping today so i can wake in your arms tonight, like, wake to a dream... sort of thing.
maybe the living in spite (upon reflection) is his implication that she feels something for him or something but turns away from it, lives in spite of those feelings and tears him apart. i dunno. |

i dunno, i don't think it's sexist or tongue-in-cheek. I think he's quite possibly writing how he feels. It's irrational of course, but I mean, i think he just feels jealous. Fair enough. It sucks to have a girlfriend who gets along with everyone else just as well as you, to feel like you don't share anything better than the rest of the world. |

i dunno, i think the contradictions are comparing now and then. i'm probably wrong but that was my first thought. "You are my baby" i said as she's there beside him, but no more... "I could never see you depart us" seems like she eventually did.

Uhm, sorry to say, but this is quite comparable to Thursday. They're both quite impressive bands, but I prefer thursday. They don't use the screaming effect as much and it's more powerful when they do. FATA is kind of ... annoying, they scream TOO much. And you can't understand it. Don't get me wrong the scream can be a great thing, but ... they overuse it IMO |
