This song seems to be about how great it can be to travel. NASA played the song when Spirit successfully moved off of the platform on Mars. Just an interesting tidbit of information for you folks. |

To me, this song is about doing your own thing, and ignoring others who get in your way. |

John Entwhistle was afraid of spiders, so he wrote this song. To me, this is just a fun song to listen to. I don't really see any deeper meaning to it. |

I think basically this song is about how things have gone wrong. In the beginning, the lyrics talk about how girls dig prettier women. This shows how people are never satisfied with themselves. |

I think that it is about sex. A squeeze box is an accordion, but if they didn't intentionally make this a song about sex, it really doesn't make sense any other way. <_< |

I agree with the above person about how it is a moving on song, but I don't think that it has to be a guy breaking up with a girl. I think of it as a person moving on to other things. It could be a person giving up a bad habit or moving away from friends and famliy and starting a new life. I think that this has more of a sad tone than anything else, but I don't think that there is regret, rather missing the past but looking forward to the future. |

To me, this song is about how pure things could really be. Aspects of life can become tainted if not put into the proper prospective. |

This is my favorite song off of the Tommy album. Even though the song is basically going along with the story, I think that it has a deeper meaning, too. When I listen to the song, I think that things can change for the better sometimes. When the song gets to "Listening to you, I get the music..." I get chills. I just love listening to this song. |

This is my favorite song, period.
To me, the song is about how some mistakes are never realized, but things usually change for the better. It just feels like a happier song about change. Even though the new turns to old, it is just how the world turns. |

I know that this really doesn't have too much to do with the lyrics, but this is my take on it...
There is a kid who wants to committ suicide, and the whole song is about his struggle. When it gets to the strange part in the middle (I see a little sillouette of a man...), it is like something is keeping him from not doing it. Eventually, he doesn't do it. Although the person is still frustrated, he didn't kill himself.
That is what the song means to me. |

When I listen to this song, I think of it as a way of looking beyond the past. It seems like it is saying that you were trying to get help from someone who ended up letting you down, then in the end you finally find your own way. |
