| Dogs Die in Hot Cars – Godhopping Lyrics

"I don't know what its about, but I understand it," doesn't mean that the song is about nothing. Music is an outlet for expression. Don't expect every song to be broken down into a logically worded format that will make sense to everyone. If they could explain what they were trying to say in an essay, then they probably wouldn't have written the song. Take it for what it is. |

| Morrissey – America Is Not The World Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
When he says, "Because America your belly's too big," I don't think he's talking so much about the fact that most Americans are overweight, but more referring to our gluttony and materialism. And Morrissey is a vegetarian and very committed animal rights activist, so when he says "you know where you can shove your hamburger," he might be expressing frustration toward our overall total lack of consideration for animals, and how we factory-farm them and see them as nothing but food. Also, when he says "I love you," I think that might be because he loves the principles that America was founded on, he just believes they are being manipulated by corrupt governments... as if these corrupt leaders are trying to "steal" his country.
...just my interpretation. |
