| Dashboard Confessional – Turpentine Chaser Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
personally, i think that this song is about suicide... not totally, but some of the lines make me think of that... "this paint has been tasting of lead" "this turpentine chaser's got kick, and the rag that it's soaked in is rich" - a method of attempting suicide is breathing in the fumes of cleaners like turpentine... "the fumes aid the pace of my cleaning and as soon as i'm done i am gone" it's like he thinks the only way to help the situation is to kill himself and as soon as he's done "cleaning" he'll be gone for good... "well sooner or later this cold it's gonna break so our hands will be warm again, but all i want is not to need you now. and sooner or later this code, it's gonna break and our words will be heard again, but all i want are vows of silence now." - this one was the only lyric i couldn't fit into my idea... but now when i think about it, he's basically saying that eventually things will get better, but he can't take the waiting any more, so he's saying that he wants the opposite (words being heard again, but he wants vows of silence). you know... that was the first impression i got from this song... but now that i really think about it, it could definitely be talking about a relationship, and how he wants to cool it for a while, because he's really hurt from everything that has gone on, lies and indifference... and it's gone on for too long, and they're beginining to let eachother know what they feel... even if it hurts.. so he needs to get away for a while... he ends the song telling her that it needs to be over, because you can't just paint over it.. it's too wrecked... (new coats of paint will not reacquaint broken hearts to broken homes) wow... i guess that's what this website is for... i'll never think of that song the same way again... :o) |

| The Livid – Egzit Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| wow, a livid lyric! livid is great! someone should put some of their older songs on here. the lyrics are a lot more meaningful if you ask me. | |
| Mansun – An Open Letter To The Lyrical Trainspotter Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| if you don't see what these lyrics mean then you're crazy! it says it outright! the whole point of this song is just basically to justify the rest of mansun's songs... they're telling you that the lyrics aren't supposed to mean all that much... the singer is just telling you that his lyrics are meant only to make the music sound better. they're just like another instrument... so even though he's saying that the lyrics aren't supposed to mean that much, this song does have some meaning to it. | |

| Mansun – Stripper Vicar Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this song is the shit... i hope somebody starts commenting on these mansun songs, because mansun is seriously amazing... i love their music... it's so energetic, but it still reflects some social unrest... it doesn't pretend that everything is all good, but it's still happy about life. i like that. | |
| Dashboard Confessional – Drowning Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| i do think this song is about drinking, but the drinking isn't the focus, the focus is the fact that he feels he has to drink, because he's scared of something. i'm not gonna pretend to know what's going on, but i love this song, and i saw dashboard in concert recently, and i was right in the front with my friend, and in between songs my friend asked chris to play drowning, and he made kindof a face, and said he couldn't because that song made him upset. so whatever this song is about, it's definitely something deep. | |
