I really like this song, but I have to say, some of the comments here are totally missing the point. moxieroxychr and SlashedStar, I'm talking about you. This song is not just about liking someone you shouldn't - in fact its barely about that at all. Read the lyric, it transcends that. This genre is filled with songs about unrequited love, and they tend to end with the guy getting the girl, or the guy not getting her and being hopelessly depressed. I can't help but love a song that turns that convention on its head - right at the bridge Avril takes the song in a great new direction, and makes it a song about how stupid and worthless people who are purely concerned with image are. In the end the beautiful girl from the beginnnig of the song is totally irrelevant - its hillarious AND its poignant. I know its a matter of opinion, but I think its a great song. |
