| Skylar's Dream – The Storm That Killed Christmas Lyrics

The chorus to this song is the best part for me. It's that feeling that you may or may not have experienced when your in your room trying to sleep but you can't...there's a little bit of light in your room and you notice if u move your hands u can make different shaddows. The "what you are is what you lost" part, is just about realzing that the only thing you have at the end of the day is confusion, and that's what's keeping you up at night. The lasat part "the price to pay is worth the cost", is saying how no matter what happened, or how bad it was, in the end it was worth it. good stuff |

This song represents all the foolish and stupid things that we sometimes do in life, but also shows how you might get burned if you play with fire, but you might also learn how to control it. |

i think the key to this song is in realizing what the last verse means, that the "three roses" are symbolic of "past, present, and future, and that sometimes realizing that all these different moments in time don't always work out as they are planed. |

To me this song is about sitting in your room and and realizing how hurt you are about a particular issue..and then the chours "well don't you want to find a way to make things better" is that cry out for help..when u really truly want to go up to someone thta is causing you problems and just have everything resolved. That's what it means to me. |

too me this song is about being let down so many times. i think particularly his "pale heart" was broken by someone he cared down, and it seems to be a common pattern. "what could one more do to me". he's just so used to being let down and wanting and expecting more out of something that it's making him tired and "wearing [him] down". Relationships can suck...he's learning to deal with them. |

| Something For Kate – Old Pictures Lyrics

to me this song is about a person struggling with a breakup and he constantly is being reminded by old pictures of the bitterness. "I turned you in I turned you into whispers " seems to be about not letting the bad thoughts get to him, and not letting them control him he's breaking away from the normal and going down his own path and trying to grow. The "i remembered you on trains so now your on every train i hear" seems to be refering to the past when he used to be "in love", but now all the old pictures and trains just remind him of his ex- and it's difficult to move on, so all the thoughts and voices that cloud his mind and remind him of her are just turned into whispers so he can survive. |

This song kicks ass, i feel like it was written for me. It seems like one of those "bad days" where u just wake up and want to change. nothing's working for u "u can't get with the program..it's like trying to think in reverse". You just keep searching for hope and answers. But you become plagued by your past deamons and monsters that are allways trying to "wipe me out". Then you go back, and "hide under-water ... and buy some time" to get away from all the BS of life. "Trying to be two hundred thousand years younger, So i could excuse myself from humankind " is one one my favorite lyrics.....it seems like he's just tired of living in such a superficial world and he realizes how mean and uncaring some people can be. he wants to get away from that sort of life. But his monsters just keep shutting him out and making him believe what he knows isn't true. He's tired of living in such a world of hate and wants change, and wants freedom above all the rest. You can tell this when he says "i don't want to be a container"..he doesn't want to be trapped... |

| Something For Kate – Jerry, Stand Up Lyrics

To me, this song is about a man who is depressed and living life in a sad, pittied-way. He lives alone in a dark room, excluding himself from others in an anti-social behavoir because he's so angry at the world and the mindless people that walk it. He quits his job because life just doesn't seem worth it anymore. He asks himself what the use of working is if he's so unhappy with life. It seems at this point that he becomes suicidal, and just just starts running away. Running from his fears, his friends, his "life". Just trying to escape. At this point it seems like Paul is sending out a warning message, saying that he knows somethings not right with Jerry, and he notices that he's missing. He trys to offer advice to make "life better"... "Fresh air, a nice new suit, a walk in the park every day or two". Alltogether it seems like depression and suicidal feelings made "jerry" run from the horrible things in his life and they turned him crazy. It seems like Paul wrote this to warn all of us about suicide and depression and too look out and "notice who's been missing"... |

I agree with what your saying, it also seems as though "I leave pieces of paper Pieces of myself along the way" he's not satisfied with the way that life is working out. He's tired of repitition and not getting where or what he wanted out of life. "And you take everything so seriously
Then you leave and burn up on re-entry". To me, that's saying that he has no down time to be normal and relax, and then when he's acused of being so serious it frustrates him and the only thing to do is walk away and then "burn up" or get pissed off at life. That would explain the dissatisfaction with life... |

| Something For Kate – Feeding The Birds And Hoping For Something In Return Lyrics

To me this song seems to be about a personal experience of growing up and becoming confused or lost in the moment. It seems as though the subject of the song has almost left home and has come to a city and is now lost. The moment of being lost in a city with nowhere to go is so overpowering for him "He sees streets Waiting for him to decide ". He doesn't know where to go, or what to say, he's flustered. "And I know the sound of panic
And I know emergency
And I know I've planned it like a battle
But when I'm done shaking I'll be simple ". That part there seems to be emphasising the scariness of being out in a new situation that he's not familiar with. When he's done worrying...everything will be ok, but for the meantime he "And he sees the buildings waiting
He sees them tired and leaning on each other ", and he is forced to grow up and figure out the confusion of being alone and in a new sitaution. |
