| Hopesfall – The Far Pavilions Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I disagree that this song is Christian in nature. Rather, I see it as a description of the human conditition. We all have bad friends, and they "make trust a failed practive." What is so sad about this is that everyone there are good friends out there, and it is so much harder to find them when it is difficult to trust someone. Thus we become a far pavilion, where we "stand on this hill alone, never turning back, in hopes that the past will fade." This is where the Christain interpretation; it is unsaid that on our far pavilions we can look toward God. Regardless, its just a song about loneliness in my opinion. | |
| Aesop Rock – Dryspell Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
My days graze normalcy then morbidly crash My years breathe honesty then sardonically laugh Alas, I dig my toes in to the sand and spit foliage out my lips Personifying mankind's end all aspirations Hope floats... No, hope sinks like broken boats and most harassed before provoked Awesome. Aesop rock is such a great poet. |

I think this song is about when you seperate from someone you really care about and struggle with the deep sense of loss that you will undoubtedly go through. "It's all in our heads / the faint whispers" sounds like when you can almost here someone's voice, as if they are right next to you and telling you what you want to hear. But then reality sets in. Tell me what you all think. |

| Hopesfall – Open Hands To The Wind Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| This song is about the dualistic and paradoxic nature of life and how humanity is equally capable of good and bad. "The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning" because those who "chase the wind" are trying to reach a state of happiness that does not exist for happiness cannot exist without sorrow. I think the point the singer is trying to convey is that empathy is what makes us grow stronger, not by chasing hopes for a better day. | |
